Physical and Mechanical Properties
This system differs from conventional compactors in the following physical and mechanical properties:
1 High-frequency excitation (70 Hz)
With a frequency of 70 Hertz, the compactors vibrate about twice as fast as the natural frequency of the soil being compacted. This rapid, high-frequency excitation breaks the friction between the soil particles, causing them to rearrange themselves more quickly and without voids.
2 100 % vertical force transmission
The plate compactors operate with two or four counter-rotating exciter shafts. With this design, horizontal vibration forces cancel each other out. The entire compaction energy is directed exactly vertically (100 %) into the ground.
3 Protection of the surroundings
Since no unwanted lateral vibrations are generated and the energy is directed straight down, vibrations in the surrounding area are barely measurable. This makes the machines ideal for sensitive applications, such as on tight inner-city construction sites or directly next to listed buildings.
4 Depth effect
Thanks to the purely vertical force direction and the high frequency, enormous depth effects can be achieved. Measurements show that dump heights of up to one meter can be easily compacted over the entire height in a single pass.
5 High energy efficiency
Because the kinetic energy is used in a targeted manner and does not dissipate aimlessly, significantly less drive power is required for compaction (in some cases only approx. 20 kW). The add-on compactors can therefore be mounted on comparatively light carrier vehicles from 6 tons upwards, which massively reduces fuel consumption and machine effort.
